WEB SERIES REVIW: The charm of Panchayat has always rested on its rooted characters, slice-of-life storytelling, and a refreshingly realistic tone. Season 4 continues in the same universe, drawing strength from its familiar faces and grounded setting. However, this time the village of Phulera is in full political mode, with the narrative diving headfirst into the local elections setting the stage for a showdown between Manju Devi and Kranti Devi. The season again ends on a cliffhanger, which might frustrate viewers expecting resolution.

This season attempts to explore deeper political dynamics and village power plays, but in doing so, sacrifices some of the simplicity and subtle emotional resonance that once defined the show. Though the emotional pulse may have dulled compared to earlier seasons, the series still manages to strike a chord with its mass appeal and engaging moments. The blend of comedy, emotion, and drama continues.

Direction by Akshat Vijaywargiya and Deepak Kumar Mishra remains one of the season’s strongest aspects. Their eye for detail and the ability to portray small-town India authentically is commendable. Chandan Kumar’s story, however, is thinner this time, relying heavily on the conflict between rival factions. Still, his screenplay holds up well, injecting enough light-hearted and dramatic moments to keep things moving.

The performances are, once again, a highlight. Jitendra Kumar delivers a controlled act that aligns well with his character. Raghubir Yadav is solid and dependable, as always. Sunita Rajwar as Kranti Devi and Durgesh Kumar shines as Bhushan, stealing scenes with his portrayal of Phulera’s resident agitator. Neena Gupta, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy, Pankaj Jha and Ashok Pathak remain effortlessly natural, adding authenticity to every scene they’re in.

Panchayat Season 4 Rating:
Direction 3.5/5
Acting 4/5
Dialogues 3.5/5
Story 3/5
Screenplay 3.5/5
Overall Hit Ya Flop Rating: 3.5 out of 5 Stars (Very Good)
