Housefull 4 starring Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hegde, and Kriti Kharbanda got a good start at the Indian box office. The movie began its theatrical run with ₹ 19.08 Crore. The reincarnation comedy film has collected ₹ 111.82 Crore in India and crossed ₹ 150 Crore gross worldwide within five days of its release.
The movie emerges as the 6th Highest Opening for Akshay Kumar after Mission Mangal (₹ 29.16 Crore), Gold (₹ 25.25 Crore), Kesari (₹ 21.06 Crore), Singh Is Bling (₹ 20.67 Crore) and 2.0 (₹ 20.25 Crore). Also, it has recorded as the highest opening in the Housefull franchise, Housefull 3 had collected ₹ 15 Crore on its first day, Housefull 2 and Housefull have opened at ₹ 12.19 Crore and ₹ 9.32 Crore respectively.
The film was supposed to be directed by Sajid Khan, who had also directed the first two installments but was replaced by Farhad Samji due to Me Too allegations. It is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The film is the fourth installment of a super hit Housefull franchise. The film is based on reincarnation, spanning a period of 600 years from 1419 to 2019.
Nadiadwala claimed the film to be the highest budgeted Indian comedy film. Housefull 4 got released across 3500 screens in India and made on a budget of ₹ 75 Crore including the Production and Prints & Advertising Cost.
