Vibe is an action thriller comedy film written, produced and directed by Kunal Kemmu. It is Kemmu’s second film as a writer and director after 2024’s Madgaon Express and an over three decades long career as an actor, as well as his producing debut. The film was released theatrically in India on 18 September 2026.

MOVIE REVIEW: Kunal Kemmu’s latest outing, Vibe, is a decent one-time watch that works best when it embraces its madcap humour. The story may be familiar, the screenplay is simplistic, and the film loses momentum in the second half, but there’s enough fun, laughter and entertaining performances to keep viewers engaged. Kunal Kemmu’s strong command over comedy, several hilarious one-liners make Vibe an enjoyable watch, even if it doesn’t quite sustain its initial energy.
The story of Vibe, written by Kunal Kemmu has nothing particularly groundbreaking about the premise, and the narrative follows a familiar template that audiences may have seen in different forms before. If there’s one department where Vibe consistently shines, it is the dialogues. However, the film understands the kind of entertainer it wants to be, and that works in its favour. The film has a good understanding of its comic zone, and whenever it stays there, Vibe delivers.
Kunal Kemmu’s screenplay is peppered with hilarious dialogues, comic situations and entertaining moments that keep the interest going. The writing doesn’t try to overcomplicate things, and that straightforward approach suits the film’s tone. The real fun begins when Hardik and Bugs get involved with the V.I.B.E agency. Their interactions, the situations they find themselves in, and the madness that follows provide some of the film’s most enjoyable stretches.
The first half is engaging, providing a good dose of entertainment. But once the story moves to Bangkok in the second half, the film begins to lose its momentum. The narrative becomes more routine, and the villain track doesn’t offer anything particularly fresh. The dialogues also give the supporting characters enough personality to stand out. The banter, comic misunderstandings and absurd situations contribute significantly to the film’s overall vibe.
The film’s biggest strength is Kunal Kemmu himself. He is equally effective as a writer, director and actor, and his comic timing elevates several scenes. As a director, Kunal Kemmu understands the tone of the film and gives the story a straightforward treatment without making it unnecessarily complicated. He has already demonstrated his command over humour with Madgaon Express (2024), and that experience is visible in Vibe as well. He knows how to build comic situations, how to use awkwardness for laughs and how to get the best out of his actors in humorous scenes.
Coming to the performances, Kunal Kemmu leads from the front. He has a natural ability to find humour in a character’s reactions, expressions and delivery. Preity G Zinta brings confidence and screen presence to the film, and her character gets some memorable moments. Her action scene is particularly noteworthy and stands out as one of the film’s highlights. Sparsh Srivastava performance complements the film’s comic and chaotic tone. He is one of the performers who help keep the proceedings lively. Yashpal Sharma and Dinesh Lal Yadav are great in their supporting roles. Both actors contribute to the film’s humour and overall entertainment quotient. Vanshika Dhir makes a decent debut impression and fits comfortably into the film’s world.
