MOVIE REVIEW: After 19 months, the audience finally witnessed Sooryavanshi on the big screen. It is definitely a big addition to Rohit Shetty’s cop universe but the movie does not have all the elements which make it a worthy watch. The cross-border plot is predictable, the screenplay was stretched but still, the movie manages to entertain its viewers. If you’re a fan of Singham and Simmba, then you can’t miss it.
Akshay Kumar delivers praiseworthy action scenes and his comic timing never disappoints his fans. Katrina Kaif has a decent role and she looks stunning in the recreation of the iconic song ‘Tip Tip Barsa Paani’. Abhimanyu Singh, Gulshan Grover, and Kumud Mishra played their part so effectively. All the other supporting actors including Nikitin Dheer, Jaaved Jaaferi, and Jackie Shroff have given a good performance.
The action-packed climax scene followed by exhilarating background scores sets the right mood. You can’t keep your eyes off when the trio punching and shooting the bullets. The chase and fight sequence in Jaisalmer was nothing new but the chase sequence between Akshay and Sikander Kher on the streets of Bangkok is a visual delight. One more notable scene is when Simmba talks to the terrorists about the consequences of terrorism on the economical and financial conditions of Pakistan.
The music is a mixed bag, VFX is average and the dialogues are fine. There was room for crisp editing in the first half. But if love to watch high-voltage action movies then go for it.
Sooryavanshi Movie Rating:
Direction 3/5
Acting 3.5/5
Action 3.5/5
Story 2.5/5
Screenplay 2.5/5
Overall Hit ya Flop Rating: 3 out of 5 Stars (Good)
