Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety Movie Review and Ratings

PLOT : Sonu and Titu are childhood friends. Titu has always been a naive lover, who falls in love easily and Sonu has always had to step in to save him. But Sweety is the perfect bride and Titu is head over heels in love with her. Sonu’s instinct to protect Titu at whatever cost, makes him feel that she’s too good to be true. What ensues is a war between the best friend and the bride to be. While Sweety is trying to impress Titu and the family alike, Sonu is out to sabotage the utopian romance and Sonu doubts Sweety’s character and tries to break the marriage while Sweety tries to do opposite, which leads to war between Bromance and Romace.

MOVIE REVIEW: Luv Ranjan, who is well known for his direction in Pyaar Ka Punchnama series is back with the same genre and with almost same team. In Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety the clash between romance and bromance is something fresh for the movie goers, Nushrat Bharucha & Kartik Aaryan fighting over the possession of a Sunny Singh is a fun to watch.
Kartik Aryan is really impressive here, his character of protective best friend Sonu tries to convince Titu as to how Sweety is not a correct option for him. Kartik is the only one person to watch out for his expression, smile, humour, comic timing and dialogues everything is too good.
Kartik and Nushrat who play Sonu and Sweety here, have been in all the Luv Ranjan’s films so far, Pyaar Ka Punchnama (2011), Akaash Vani (2013) and Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 in 2015.
In this film too Nushrat Bharucha has delivered the good performance but Sunny Singh didn’t have much to showcase his character here. Sonnalli Seygall is also there in a small cameo.
The supporting cast has done the good job, Ishita Raj’s screen presence in second half of the film is loved by the audience, especially the scene when her character Pihu is reacquainted with Titu’s family.
Alok Nath and Virendra Saxena are also delight to watch, Alok is not a father of sanskars anymore, he shown as a badass grandpa in the film. Even with the limited screen space and dialogues, they manages to keep the movie interesting and gave few whistling scenes too. The whole cast together has given many rib tickling moments.

The only thing which doesn’t work for the movie is some repetitive jokes and its runtime of 2 hours, 22 minutes just showing the battle of Sonu vs Sweety. The editing part could have been done better. Music of the film is a plus point Dil ChoriChhote Chhote Peg and Bom Diggy Diggy are already the chartbusters song.

The movie has got the good opening and it has become the third biggest opener of this year after Padmaavat and Padman, the morning occupancy of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety is bigger than that of Pad Man in some places. If you want to enjoy a good time with your friends then go & watch this youthful entertainment, its definitely a worth watch at cinemas.
