Roohi starring Rajkummar Rao, Janhvi Kapoor, and Varun Sharma opened to mixed responses from the audience and critics. The film hit the big screen on 11th March 2021 and it has recorded a decent start at the Indian box office. Roohi is the first major Hindi film to release theatrically after the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting allowed cinema halls across the country to operate at full capacity from February with following all the Covid-19 safety protocols.
The movie began its theatrical run with ₹ 3.06 Crore. The horror-comedy film has collected ₹ 12.58 Crore in India within four days of its release. Roohi has become Rajkummar’s third-highest opening weekend grosser after Stree (₹ 31.26 Crore) and Judgementall Hai Kya (₹ 22 Crore). The film is directed by Hardik Mehta and produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, the same production house behind the 2018 film Stree.
Hit Ya Flop gave it 2 out of 5 stars and rated as ‘Below Average’. It got released across 1500+ screens in India and estimated to be made on a budget of ₹ 25 Crore including the Production and Prints & Advertising Cost.
