WEB SERIES REVIEW: Season 1 > Season 2 > Season 3.
After a four-year hiatus, the highly anticipated third season of Mirzapur has finally arrived. However, the extended wait hasn’t quite paid off. While the series has maintained a loyal fanbase, the magic seems to be fading with each new season. Mirzapur Season 3 is a mixed bag. Fans who have patiently waited for this season might find it falls short of expectations.

The show, which once gripped audiences with its raw energy and intense storytelling, has become progressively slower and somewhat dull. Season 3 of Mirzapur, spans 10 episodes with a total runtime of 500 minutes, making it excessively long. This extended duration feels unwarranted, as the storyline struggles to sustain interest throughout. Despite these shortcomings, the show manages to retain some of its charm through exceptional performances, sharp dialogues, and a handful of engaging episodes.

Directors Gurmmeet Singh and Anand Iyer have shifted the focus from the high-octane violence and action that defined the previous seasons to the intricate machinations of politics. The writing feels unnecessarily stretched. The cinematography remains good, particularly during the action sequences, but the editing leaves much to be desired. A tighter edit, trimming at least 2 episodes, could have significantly improved the pacing.

The performances in Season 3 are a saving grace. Ali Fazal and Anjum Sharma deliver stellar performances, with Shweta Tripathi Sharma standing out as well. Vijay Varma impresses but leaves viewers wanting more screen time for his character. Rajesh Tailang, Harshita Gaur, and Sheeba Chadha provide solid support, while Pankaj Tripathi’s Kaleen Bhaiya takes a surprising backseat, allowing others to shine. However, Priyanshu Painyuli and Rasika Dugal feel underutilized this time around. The rest of the supporting cast perform adequately in their roles.

Mirzapur Season 3 Rating:
Direction 3/5
Acting 4/5
Editing 2/5
Story 3/5
Screenplay 3/5
Overall Hit ya Flop Rating: 3 out of 5 Stars (Good)
