MOVIE REVIEW: Cirkus is a huge disappointment and suffers due to poor writing. The movie is filled with unfunny dialogues, forced humour and it lacks funny sequences & punchlines. Rohit Shetty’s magic & madness is missing here, the man behind the Golmaal series, Chennai Express, All The Best, and Bol Bachchan has delivered his weakest film ever.
This film is the weakest adaption of William Shakespeare’s play The Comedy of Errors. The screenplay is below average and has nothing new to offer. The dialogues are the biggest drawback of the film. There was hardly a scene or two which manage to evoke laughter. And there is nothing great about cinematography and background music too. The first half will only test your patience. The film tried hard to be hilarious post-interval due to more screentime given to Sanjay Mishra and Siddhartha Jadhav.
Sanjay Mishra and Siddhartha Jadhav manage to bring some laughs to the audience due to their comical expressions and dialogue delivery. Ranveer Singh played his both characters with ease but due to bad writing, he delivers an average performance and could not able to do justice to his fans. Varun Sharma lend good support but again his character was underwritten. Both the leading ladies, Pooja Hegde and Jacqueline Fernandez look stunning and delivered a decent performance in the limited screen time. All the other potential actors including Johnny Lever, Mukesh Tiwari, Tiku Talsania, Brijendra Kala, and Murali Sharma are completely wasted.
