BOX OFFICE TSUNAMI! Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Bobby Deol crossed ₹ 200 Crore mark in India and ₹ 350 Crore gross worldwide in its opening weekend. The movie began its theatrical run with ₹ 63.80 Crore. The action drama film collected ₹ 201.76 Crore in India of which ₹ 176.58 Crore came from the Hindi version and ₹ 25.18 Crore from its dubbed versions within three days of its release. It emerged as the first Hindi film to collect over ₹ 50 Crore on three consecutive days. Currently, the movie stands with a worldwide gross collection of ₹ 356 Crore.
Animal emerged as the highest opening weekend grosser for Ranbir Kapoor surpassed Brahmastra – Part One: Shiva (₹ 120.75 Crore). With ₹ 201.76 Crore, Animal has managed to surpass the Salman Khan starrer Tiger 3 which collected ₹ 148.50 Crore and becomes the third-highest opening weekend grosser of 2023. Also, Animal beats KGF – Chapter 2 opening weekend collection of ₹ 193.99 Crore to score the 3rd position in the list of Top 10 All-Time Highest Opening Weekend Hindi Grossers. Leading the list are the Shah Rukh Khan starrers Jawan, which collected ₹ 286.16 Crore, and Pathaan, which collected ₹ 280.75 Crore.
The film is co-written, edited, and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and produced by T-Series, Bhadrakali Pictures, and Cine1 Studios. Hit Ya Flop gave it 3.5 out of 5 stars & rated it as ‘Very Good’ and wrote “A rare cinematic exploration delving into the intricate tapestry of human emotions and relationships. The film is marked by impressive performances, terrific direction, and well-crafted storytelling.”
Animal was released on 1st Dec 2023 across 4000 screens in India. It is estimated to be made on a budget of ₹ 100 Crore including the Production and Prints & Advertising Cost.
