WEB SERIES REVIEW: “The course of true love never did run smooth.”
Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein returns with its second season, and it delivers a thrilling continuation of the suspense-packed narrative that left viewers hooked in its season 1. Directed by Sidharth Sengupta, the series builds on the tension, drama, and intrigue of the first season while pushing its characters into even more desperate and dangerous situations. Amar Shetty’s action choreography is gritty and realistic. Rajesh G Pandey’s slick editing ensures that the narrative never feels dragged. Murali Krishna’s cinematography deserves special mention, capturing stunning visuals of snow-capped mountains and picturesque locations that add a unique flavor to the intense drama.
The story picks up right where Season 1 left off, keeping the momentum alive with its fast-paced screenplay and riveting twists. The sharp dialogues and unexpected turns in each episode keep viewers glued to their screens, making it a binge-worthy experience. However, while the season ends on another cliffhanger, this time it leaves an overwhelming number of unanswered questions. The cliffhanger ending may not sit well with all viewers, but with just six episodes, season 2 is a shorter but tightly packed ride that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats.
Tahir Raj Bhasin as Vikrant is a standout, portraying the character’s inner turmoil and escalating brutality with finesse. Anchal Singh as Purva impresses yet again with her intense and obsessive portrayal. Shweta Tripathi Sharma delivers her usual natural and heartfelt performance as Shikha. Gurmeet Choudhary shines in his action sequences. Saurabh Shukla and Brijendra Kala remain dependable as ever. Arunoday Singh steals the show with a powerful and commanding performance. Anant Joshi, Nikita Grover, Shashi Verma, and other supporting cast are effective in their roles.
