The josh is still high for Uri: The Surgical Strike, it becomes the first movie in the mid-range category to enter into the 200 Crore club of Bollywood. The movie is unstoppable at the box office and also inching towards the 300 Crore mark globally. In India, Vicky Kaushal starrer film has crossed the ₹ 200 Crore mark in its forth week. Currently the action war film stands with a whopping collection of ₹ 200.07 Crore in India and ₹ 292 Crore gross worldwide within 28 days of its release.
In North India, Uri: The Surgical Strike has made a business of ₹ 38 crore, especially in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi & East Punjab and in Mumbai, the film has earned ₹ 75 Crore. There is high chance that it will continues to hold the movie goer’s attention in its 5th week too as there are no big releases this week. The movie can reach to ₹ 225 mark in India till the Zoya Akhtar’s much awaited Gully Boy starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt is hitting the screens on 14th February 2019.
The movie also starring Paresh Rawal, Yami Gautam, Mohit Raina, Manasi Parekh and Kirti Kulhari. It is written & directed by Aditya Dhar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala under the banner of RSVP Movies. It is a fictionalised account of the retaliation to the 2016 Uri attack, the film follows Major Vihaan Singh Sherghil of the Indian Army, who plays a leading role in organizing it. The movie is now all set to be remade in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.
Vicky Kaushal and all the supporting cast trained at the Mumbai naval bases in Cuffe Parade and Navy Nagar, where Army Captains and Majors taught them slithering, use of arms and ammunition, and other drills used by the armed forces. The filming of the scenes in the movie capturing the fights and struggles was done in Serbia. Indo Pak border and the LOC and other posts like Military post and terrorist camps were also created in Serbia.
Uri: The Surgical Strike was released in 2200 screens in India and it is made on a budget of ₹ 45 Crore which includes the Production cost of ₹ 30 Crore and Prints & Advertising Cost of ₹ 15 Crore.
