MOVIE REVIEW: Sikandar Ka Muqaddar sets off as an engaging heist thriller with a strong premise but lacks the gripping storytelling. Directed by Neeraj Pandey, the film hints at the director’s signature style of intelligent thrillers but struggles to maintain its momentum. While the story starts with promise, the screenplay falters, weighed down by loose ends and a lack of focus in the second half.
The first half is filled with intriguing setups and moments of tension. However, as the narrative progresses, the tight grip begins to slip. The second half feels disjointed and lacks the razor-sharp intensity that defines Pandey’s best works. The screenplay leaves too many threads unresolved, and the final scene fails to make an impact, leaving the audience unsatisfied. At 143 minutes, the stretched runtime, coupled with the uneven pacing, detracts from the overall experience.
On the brighter side, the performances are the film’s saving grace. Jimmy Sheirgill delivers a stellar performance, carrying the weight of several scenes on his shoulders. Avinash Tiwary shines in pivotal moments. Tamannaah Bhatia impresses with her restrained performance in a non-glamorous role. Rajeev Mehta, though decent, is underutilized. Other actors were just fine in their roles.
