With ₹96.85 crore in its opening weekend, Mirzapur The Movie has secured the 4th spot among the Top 5 opening weekends of 2026 Hindi films, after Dhurandhar 2, Border 2, and Toxic Hindi version. This is a remarkable achievement considering that Mirzapur originated as a web series and has now successfully translated its massive fan following into theatrical footfalls.
The film has performed fantastically across the board. Urban centres have registered very strong numbers, while the response from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities has been excellent. Most remarkably, the mass pockets have been nothing short of spectacular. The strong performance in these centres indicates that the film has successfully connected with the core audience that has followed the Mirzapur franchise over the years.
Hit ya Flop rated film 3.5 out of 5 stars, calling it “Very Good” and wrote “Mirzapur The Movie is exactly what fans of the franchise would expect – an entertaining, massy & dialogue-heavy cinematic ride that brings the much-loved characters of Mirzapur to big screen. Performances are film’s biggest USP. Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyenndu, Jitendra Kumar, Ravi Kishan & Rasika Dugal delivering plenty of whistle-worthy moments. The film also works because of its engaging screenplay, impressive direction, high-octane action & of course, the sheer popularity of iconic characters.”
Mirzapur The Movie has demonstrated that a successful web-series property can generate theatrical-level mass appeal when its characters and brand have developed a strong connection with audiences. With ₹97.69 crore already collected across Hindi and Telugu versions in its opening weekend, the film is now eyeing the ₹100 crore mark in India and a strong first week.
