MOVIE REVIEW: One-word review? “Aandhi ban ke aaya hoon!” And honestly, that sums it up perfectly. A thunderous, larger-than-life cinematic storm that will be remembered for years to come.
There are films that meet expectations, and then there are films that obliterate them completely. Dhurandhar: The Revenge belongs in the latter category. This is a full-blown cinematic masterpiece that not only lives up to the legacy of its predecessor but outshines it by a massive margin. Rarely does Indian cinema witness a sequel this powerful, this confident, and this complete. In an industry where sequels often struggle to justify their existence, this film does the opposite, it redefines what a sequel can be.
Yes, the runtime is close to 4 hours, which may raise eyebrows but unlike most long films that test patience, this one immerses you so deeply that you lose track of time. With this sequel, director Aditya Dhar proves that he isn’t here to repeat success, he’s here to reinvent it on a grander scale. While the first film established the world and characters, The Revenge expands it into something far more layered, intense, and emotionally charged. The screenplay is gripping, every scene feels purposeful, every transition sharp, and every payoff earned. The final act of Dhurandhar 2 is where the film truly transcends into greatness. The last 30 minutes are nothing short of extraordinary.
From a technical standpoint, the film operates at an exceptionally high level. The action sequences are not just large-scale, they are intelligently designed, blending realism with cinematic flair. The background score amplifies every emotion, turning key moments into goosebumps-worthy highs. The cinematography captures the scale beautifully. The editing is crisp and controlled, ensuring the narrative never feels indulgent despite its length. Shashwat Sachdev’s music not as iconic as the first part and not aiming for chartbusters, but it complements the story’s tone and enhances its emotional beats effectively.
Ranveer Singh delivers an extraordinary performance. He delivers a performance that is fierce yet vulnerable, explosive yet controlled. Rakesh Bedi turns out to be the film’s biggest wildcard. What begins as a light, almost comic presence gradually transforms into something deeply impactful, culminating in a character arc that genuinely surprises. R. Madhavan is terrific and commanding attention in every single scene. Arjun Rampal and Sanjay Dutt shine brilliantly in their supporting roles. Sara Arjun performs well within her limited scope. Supporting cast including Gaurav Gera, Manav Gohil, Danish Pandor, Udaybir Sandhu, and Ankit Sagar deliver solid performances.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge excels in storytelling, performances, scale, and emotional impact. It’s rare to find a film where you struggle to point out flaws because there are barely any.
