It is based on Godhra train burning incident of 27 February 2002, involving Sabarmati Express train. The film was released by theatrically on 15 November 2024.

This grounded storytelling makes it a compelling watch. The narrative is fast-paced, driven by power-packed dialogues and crisp editing, ensuring viewers remain engrossed throughout.
The direction, while commendable in parts, occasionally falters in maintaining coherence, leaving certain subplots underdeveloped and creating several loose ends that beg for closure. The screenplay grips you with its intensity but does falter occasionally, leaving a few loose ends that could have been better tied together. One notable aspect of the film is its sensitive tribute to the victims of the Sabarmati Express tragedy. Unfortunately, the inclusion of a clip from the Ram Mandir inauguration at the end feels misplaced and detracts from the focused narrative. This choice comes across as unrelated to the core theme of the movie.
The performances are stellar, elevating the film significantly. Vikrant Massey once again proves his versatility, seamlessly embodying his character with nuance and depth. Ridhi Dogra shines as a tough, no-nonsense media boss, bringing gravitas to her role. Raashii Khanna make the story even more profound with her acting. Barkha Singh was good in a cameo. Other supporting actors are fine in their respective roles.
In conclusion, The Sabarmati Report is a gripping watch, shedding light on a dark chapter in Indian history. Despite its minor flaws, the film’s solid performances and focused storytelling make it worth your time.
