Kareena Kapoor starrer The Buckingham Murders, directed by Hansal Mehta and produced by Kareena Kapoor Khan alongside Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor, brings a suspenseful crime thriller to the big screen. The film features Kapoor Khan in a powerful role as a grieving British-Indian detective tasked with solving the murder of a child in Buckinghamshire. The film premised at the prestigious 67th BFI London Film Festival on 14 October 2023. It was released theatrically in India on 13th September 2024.
However, despite its critical anticipation, the film opened with modest numbers, earning ₹ 1.35 Crore on its first day. In its opening weekend, the movie collected ₹ 6.25 Crore at the Indian box office. With a reported budget of ₹ 40 Crore, including production costs and P&A (Prints and Advertising), The Buckingham Murders faces an uphill battle to recover its investment.
