Stree is a first of its kind horror comedy, inspired from a true phenomenon. The film is set in a town called Chanderi, a small town near Bhopal where men have started disappearing mysteriously. Is ‘Stree’ taking them away? Who is she and what does she want? Watch the trailer to know more.

The movie seems to be inspired by the Karnataka legend of Nale Ba, which originated in the 1990’s. According to the myth, a witch roams the streets in the night, in Bangalore, and knocks on the door. She tricks people by talking in the voices of their kin. Those who open it, die. To avoid her, people write ‘Nale Ba..’ which means come tomorrow in Kannada.
This eventually led to April 1st being referred to as the Nale Ba Day among Kannada locals.
