Blockbuster Pathaan starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham emerges as Bollywood’s highest-grosser film ever by surpassing Dangal collections. The movie becomes the fastest Hindi film to cross the ₹ 400 Crore mark in India within just 11 days of its release, beating the record held by Baahubali 2 (Hindi version) on the 15th Day and KGF 2 (Hindi version) on the 23rd day. Shah Rukh Khan last delivered an all-time grosser in 2013 with Chennai Express and now, exactly a decade later, he has delivered another one in 2023.
After 6 years, a Bollywood film has passed the lifetime domestic collections of Aamir Khan starrer all-time-blockbuster Dangal (2016). Dangal has collected ₹ 373 Crore in Hindi and ₹ 387.38 Crore in all versions in India. Currently, Pathaan stands with a collection of ₹ 387 Crore (Hindi) & ₹ 14.40 Crore (Telugu + Tamil) in India and ₹ 780 Crore gross worldwide. The record of KGF 2 Hindi Version will be broken in the next 5 days, and with that Pathaan will become the biggest grosser in the post-pandemic in Hindi belts. It will be exciting to see if Pathaan can beat Baahubali 2, which stands at the top with ₹ 511 Crore nett. in Hindi.
Pathaan was directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films. The movie also stars Dimple Kapadia, Ashutosh Rana, & Prakash Belawadi in supporting roles, and Salman Khan in a cameo appearance. It is the fourth installment in the YRF Spy Universe. Hit Ya Flop gave it 3.5 out of 5 stars & rated it as ‘Very Good’ and wrote “it has a non-stop entertaining action and is totally worth watching on big screens.”.
The movie was released across 5500 screens in India and on 2500 screens overseas. It is estimated to be made on a budget of ₹ 240 Crore including the Production and Prints & Advertising Cost.
