PLOT : Former wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat trains young daughters Geeta and Babita to follow in his footsteps and become world-class grapples.
MOVIE REVIEW : Director Nitesh Tiwari had perfectly shown the emotions, sportsmanship and patriotism of Mahavir Singh Phogat and medal winning Geeta and Babita. Incredible storytelling based on true events and amazing cast made this Film worth watching.
Dangal portrays the wrestler’s story in multiple stages of his life, Aamir Khan had to go through several physical transformations. Once again one of the best performance by Aamir Khan
Young Geeta & Babita’s played by Zaira wasim and Suhani Bhatnagar, first half belongs to them showing up the struggle of giving up on all the fun in their teenage years, to be trained as wrestlers.
Second half is taken up by Geeta’s wrestling matches. The film then becomes a series of matches that are so well shot, so well played by Fatima Sana Shaikh and the other performers, and also well choreographed.
Debutants Fatima Sana Sheikh & Sanya Malhotra showed great intensity and grit when it came to the wrestling sequence and also performed equally well when they had to enact an emotional scene.
Sakshi Tanwar is impressive in the small role of their mother, and a Aparshakti Khurana (Ayushmann Khurrana’s brother) who narrated the film played his supporting role very well.
