MOVIE REVIEW: A stylish, performance-driven film that entertains but doesn’t fully resonate. O’Romeo is one of those films that dazzles your eyes and ears even when it doesn’t fully grip your heart. A film that keeps you intermittently entertained but rarely moved. As a result, it lands as an average watch, enjoyable in parts, admirable in craft, but emotionally uneven.

Vishal Bhardwaj’s stamp is visible throughout. His direction is overall good, and at times inspired. Bhardwaj’s dialogues, too, carry weight, many lines linger and remind you of his gift for language and subtext. But the problem lies in the narrative’s emotional clarity. The story feels scattered, as if it’s juggling too many tones and ideas without fully committing to any. Just when you start to invest, the film shifts gears. The second half, in particular, loses steam, pacing dips, and the emotional arcs don’t quite land.

Performance-wise, the cast does heavy lifting. Shahid Kapoor is magnetic & often carrying scenes on sheer presence. Triptii Dimri is outstanding and once again proves her talent, making her moments some of the film’s most affecting. Nana Patekar is dependable as always. Avinash Tiwary striking appearance and screen command ensure he dominates whenever he shows up. Farida Jalal and Hussain Dalal are simply adorable. The cameos by Vikrant Massey and Tamannaah Bhatia are brief but effective.

Music is another strong department. The songs are good, fitting the mood and world of the film, but it’s the background score that truly elevates several sequences, adding tension, romance, and drama where the script sometimes falls short.

O’Romeo Rating:
Direction 3/5
Acting 3/5
Music 3/5
Story 2/5
Screenplay 2.5/5
Overall Hit ya Flop Rating: 2.7 out of 5 Stars (Average)
