Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi Crosses 50 Crore in 5 Days

Kangana Ranaut starrer Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi had a good start at the Indian box office. The movie began its theatrical run with ₹ 8.75 Crore and emerges as Kangana Ranaut‘s biggest opener. The epic biographical period drama film has collected ₹ 52.40 Crore in India and ₹ 81.42 Crore gross worldwide within five days of its release.

The movie also starring Atul Kulkarni, Jisshu Sengupta, Suresh Oberoi, Ankita Lokhande, Danny Denzongpa and Mishti Chakraborty. It is written by K. V. Vijayendra Prasad and directed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi (Krish) & Kangana Ranaut. The film is based on the life of Rani Laxmi Bai of Jhansi and her war against the British East India Company, during the Indian Rebellion of 1857.

Kangana Ranaut was admitted to ICCU ward at Apollo Hospital Hyderabad after suffering a major injury during a fight scene where in she got 15 stitches. During a sword fight scene between Kangana and Nihar Pandya the timing went wrong and the sword hit on Kanagana’s head between her eyebrows injuring her grievously. The action scene where she got injured she had decided to do the scene herself without body double.

Manikarnika got released in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil across 3700 screens worldwide which includes 3000 screens in India and 700 screens at overseas in over 50 countries. The movie is made on a budget of ₹ 125 Crore including the Production cost and Prints & Advertising Cost.
