Indian film success story in China continues with comedy drama film Hindi Medium starring Irrfan Khan and Pakistani actress Saba Qamar, the movie has opened on a record breaking note with ₹ 24.31 Crore surpasses first day earnings of blockbusters Aamir Khan’s Dangal (₹ 12.99 Crore) and Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan (₹ 14.61 Crore). Currently the movie stands with a collection of ₹ 102.29 Crore in just 3 days at Chinese box office.
Aamir Khan’s sports drama Dangal is currently the highest-grossing Indian film in China, which had made close to ₹ 1,200 Crore, his musical production Secret Superstar has earned ₹ 760 crore. Other superhits include PK ₹ 123 Crore, Dhoom 3 (₹ 24 Crore) and 3 Idiots ₹ 16 Crore.
Directed by Saket Choudhary, Hindi Medium traces the struggles of parents who want their daughter to get admitted to a good English medium school. A sequel to the film is already in the pipeline with Homi Adajania set to direct the new film.
