Gully Boy Crosses 100 Crore in 8 days

Gully Boy starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt has opened to an overwhelming response. The movie began its theatrical run with ₹ 19.40 Crore and emerges as Ranveer’s second biggest opener after Simmba (₹ 20.72 Crore). The musical drama film has collected ₹ 100.30 Crore in India and ₹ 171.29 Crore gross worldwide within eight days of its release.

The movie also starring Siddhant Chaturvedi, Vijay Raaz, Kalki Koechlin, Amruta Subhash, Sheeba Chaddha and Vijay Varma in a supporting roles. The film is loosely based on the life of street rappers Divine and Naezy. All other rappers during the battle scenes are real rappers from the Indian Rap World and not actors. It is written by Zoya Akhtar & Reema Kagti and directed by Zoya Akhtar.

The film is doing exceptionally well in metro cities. It becomes the highest grosser for Zoya Akhtar after surpassing the lifetime box office collection of her previous release Dil Dhadakne Do (₹ 76.88 Crore) and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (₹ 90.27 Crore).

Gully Boy got released across 4101 screens worldwide which includes 3350 screens in India and 751 screens in overseas. The movie is made on a budget of ₹ 75 Crore including the Production cost of ₹ 60 Crore and Prints & Advertising Cost of ₹ 15 Crore.
