MOVIE REVIEW : After helming a good and watchable films like 99, Shor In The City and India’s first zombie film Go Goa Gone, Raj and DK has directed A Gentleman which is better than their last film Happy ending but not better than others.
First half of the film is quite engaging as the screenplay is twisted and hold the audience for the suspense, whereas the second half becomes slow at most of the places but for the action lovers, yes there are some good action sequences. And the movie have a time travel between both the roles of Sidharth which interject at the interval, this one is shown very well here. But once the mystery unfolds then there is nothing much left to see to keep the viewers wait till the climax.
Trailer of this film had promised a fun & a good action comedy and the first time pairing of Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez has created all the possible excitement to pull the audience to the theaters to watch the film, but the story fails to impress.
Sidharth as Gaurav & Rishi, he looks convincing as the susheel as well as a risky guy. But if you are not a fan of Sid it can be easily avoided.
Jacqueline as Kavya is good and her moves especially while doing a pole dance is commendable.
The film marks the comeback of Suniel Shetty but he has nothing to do here but mere a guest appearance so the fans who were waiting to see him in action should stay away from this one and has to wait for his next film.
Darshan Kumar as Yakub is more impressive as the antagonist.
Supporting cast played their part well especially Hussain Dalal, who plays Gaurav’s friend Dixit and Amit Mistry who plays a Gujarati don in Miami, both bring in regular doses of humour. Rajit Kapoor and Supriya Pilgaonkar are average here.
Some songs are foot-tapping and Bandook Meri Laila is already trending.
