Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi performing well at the Indian box office. The movie began its theatrical run with ₹ 10.50 Crore. The biographical crime drama film has collected ₹ 39.12 Crore in India and crosses ₹ 50 Crore gross worldwide within three days of its release.
The movie is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and produced by Jayantilal Gada and Bhansali. The film also stars Shantanu Maheshwari, Vijay Raaz, Indira Tiwari, Seema Pahwa, Jim Sarbh, and Ajay Devgn in supporting roles. It was theatrically released worldwide on 25th Feb 2022.
Hit Ya Flop gave it 3 out of 5 stars and rated it as ‘Good’. Gangubai Kathiawadi got released across 3500 screens worldwide which includes 3000 screens in India and 500 screens overseas. It is estimated to be made on a budget of ₹ 150 Crore including the Production and Prints & Advertising Cost.
While the budget is on the higher side, the non-theatrical revenues have proved to be a big plus for the film. The film has fetched around ₹ 65 Crore from Netflix for its digital premiere and ₹ 30 Crore for the satellite rights.
