The upcoming Sandalwood period action film is a sequel to the blockbuster K.G.F: Chapter 1 which was released in 2018 and stars Yash in the lead reprising his role from the first film and Sanjay Dutt as the antagonist.
K.G.F Chapter 1 had ended with Rocky (Yash) murdering Garuda and freeing Adheera from the promises he made to his brother Suryavardhan, the second installment will revolve around the power struggle between Rocky and Adheera, which the filmmakers have described as “mother of all collisions.”
Principal photography began in March 2019, with a small part of the film having already been shot during K.G.F: Chapter 1. After an initial round of filming near Bangalore, filming commenced at cyanide hills in Kolar Gold Fields in August 2019. The film is expected to be released in July 2020 and it will be dubbed in Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu languages.
