Dhadak starring Ishaan Khatter & Janhvi Kapoor had a good start at the Indian box office and began its theatrical run with ₹ 8.71 crore and overtook the Day 1 collection of Student Of The Year to become the highest opening Bollywood film featuring newcomers. The movie shown a significant jump on its second day and raked in ₹ 11.04 crore. On its third day, the film has made ₹ 13.92 crore which brings its first weekend collection to ₹ 33.67 crore.
The film is written & directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar & Apoorva Mehta. The movie got negative reviews from most of the critics as well as audience. It was criticized for erasing caste references and being a poor remake of Marathi blockbuster Sairat.
The movie got released in 2791 screens worldwide which includes 2235 in India and 556 overseas. Dhadak is estimated to be made on a budget of ₹ 50 Crore all inclusive of Production cost and Prints & Advertising Cost.
