MOVIE REVIEW: An important film with mediocre writing and average execution. The film which focuses on the crucial subject of discrimination against Northeast people deserved a better execution. The story was unable to establish any connection with the viewers.
Ayushmann Khurrana has delivered a decent performance. Andrea Kevichüsa was good in her Bollywood debut, thanks to casting director Mukesh Chhabra for introducing the leading actress from Northeast India for this role. Loitongbam Dorendra, Mipham Otsal, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, and all other supporting actors were fine in their roles.
Director Anubhav Sinha has delivered a critically acclaimed films like Mulk, Article 15, and Thappad. But this time he couldn’t be able to offer a hard-hitting film with Anek. Although some dialogues are impactful but there was no scope for engaging drama or action in the film due to which it failed to deliver wholesome entertainment.
Anek Movie Rating:
Direction 2.5/5
Acting 3/5
Editing 2/5
Story 2.5/5
Screenplay 2.5/5
Overall Hit ya Flop Rating: 2.5 out of 5 Stars (AVG)
