MOVIE REVIEW: A lost opportunity and a terrible execution of Epic Ramayana. Adipurush didn’t live up to the expectation due to its poor writing, mediocre performances, laughable dialogues, and disappointing VFX. For a movie of 500 Crore budget, the visual effects are not up to the mark. The makers couldn’t able to deliver a mythological drama compellingly.
Prabhas is a great actor and despite the unimpressive writing he manages to pull the role decently. Saif Ali Khan could not able to do justice to the character of Ravana due to his poorly written part. Kriti Sanon delivered an endearing performance. Sunny Singh, Devdatta Nage, Vatsal Sheth, and other supporting actors were just fine in their respective roles.
The music and background score has lifted the film in a few parts but that alone can not save the complete film. The first half is fast-paced and few scenes are executed well but the second half will test your patience. There was a large room of crisp editing in the second half. The VFX in battle sequences is the biggest drawback of the film. The war sequence in the climax becomes hard to follow after a point in time. The emotional depth and powerful dialogue are missing in the film and the runtime of 3 hours will also ruin the overall impact.
