All the first releases of the year 2018 turned out to be a disappointment at the box office. Saif Ali Khan’s Kaalakaandi has received mixed reactions from the audience, after earning mere ₹ 1.40 crore on Sunday the film made a total of ₹ 3.85 crore on its opening weekend.
Anurag Kashyap’s Mukkabaaz also had a slow start, but picked up over the weekend due to good word of mouth, collected ₹ 1.71 crore on Sunday, bringing their weekend total to ₹ 4.04 crore.
On the other hand, Zareen Khan starrer horror flick 1921 has seen a good trend at the box office among the other releases, collected ₹ 2.80 crore on Sunday, bringing its total to ₹ 6.45 crore in its opening weekend. Despite of combined release at around 3000 screens, all the three films made only about ₹ 14 crore cumulatively on their opening weekend.
