MOVIE REVIEW: Those who have watched Scam 1992 can avoid this and if you haven’t watched the series yet then skip The Big Bull and watch Hansal Mehta’s outstanding recreation of the Harshad Mehta story in Scam 1992 on Sony LIV.

Kookie Gulati and Arjun Dhawan’s story and screenplay are engrossing in bits and pieces. Kookie Gulati’s direction is below average. The makers failed to deliver a hard-hitting film, in the runtime of 155 minutes viewers unable to connect with the fast-moving melodrama story. The writers have tried hard to make it entertaining but failed miserably.

Abhishek Bachchan is the right choice for this rags to riches character but he becomes the victim of weak writing. Sohum Shah’s performance in this film is nowhere near to his strong performance in his last film Tumbbad. Ileana D’Cruz and Nikita Dutta got the underwritten role and both delivered average performance. Unfortunately, the potential supporting cast consists of Saurabh Shukla, Mahesh Manjrekar, Samir Soni, and Ram Kapoor couldn’t deliver a catchy performance.

The crisp editing, impactful dialogues, and the most engaging part of CBI inquiry are missing from the plot. Editing seems as if it’s done in a haphazard manner. Carryminati’s Yalgaar turned into The Big Bull Title Track goes well with the film. Other songs are just average.

The Big Bull Movie Rating:
Direction 2/5
Acting 2.5/5
Editing 1.5/5
Story 2/5
Screenplay 2/5
Overall Hit ya Flop Rating: 2 out of 5 Stars (BELOW AVG)
