MOVIE REVIEW: The anticipation for Sikandar was immense, given its promise of a socially relevant message and Salman Khan’s larger-than-life presence. But Sikandar is a disappointment, particularly given the hype and expectations surrounding it. It is a missed opportunity that tests patience more than it entertains. Salman Khan’s fans may still turn up for their superstar, but it is not for the general audience. Several scenes seem poorly edited, leaving gaps in the narrative that make the film feel disjointed. One of the few redeeming factors of Sikandar is its action sequences. While not groundbreaking, they manage to hold some entertainment value.

A. R. Murugadoss, known for his gripping storytelling in films like Ghajini and Holiday, disappoints with Sikandar. While his vision is apparent, the execution is half-baked. The film was expected to be a high-octane entertainer with a strong emotional core. However, despite its grand ambitions, Sikandar falters due to weak storytelling, uninspired execution, and a screenplay that struggles to hold attention. Dialogues are subpar and fail to elevate the emotional moments. The second half, in particular, drags on, with forced emotions and lackluster sequences testing the audience’s patience. Pritam’s music is a mixed bag, with Zohra Jabeen standing out as the only memorable track.

Salman Khan, the film’s biggest attraction, delivers one of his most uninspired performances. His portrayal feels monotonous, with minimal effort to convey depth or emotion. His grief over his wife’s death, a crucial aspect of his character arc, feels superficial, making it difficult for the audience to connect with his struggle. Among the supporting cast, Sathyaraj and Prateik play antagonistic roles but fail to leave a lasting impression due to underwritten characters. Sharman Joshi, Kishore, and Jatin Sarna provide adequate support, while Kajal Aggarwal is decent. Anjini Dhawan and Sanjay Kapoor are barely noticeable.

Sikandar Movie Rating:
Direction 1.5/5
Acting 2/5
Action 2.5/5
Story 2.5/5
Screenplay 1.5/5
Overall Hit ya Flop Rating: 2 out of 5 Stars (Below Average)
