Pagalpanti First Week Collection

Pagalpanti starring John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Ileana D’Cruz, Arshad Warsi, Pulkit Samrat, Kriti Kharbanda, Urvashi Rautela, and Saurabh Shukla got a poor start at the Indian box office. The movie began its theatrical run with ₹ 4.75 Crore. The comedy film has collected ₹ 27 Crore in India within seven days of its release. It has received mostly negative reviews from most of the critics as well as the audience, Hit ya Flop gave it 1.5 out of 5 stars.

The movie also starring Inaamulhaq, Zakir Hussain, Ashok Samarth, Brijendra Kala, and Mukesh Tiwari. The film based on 3 men, considered as losers in their lives by the people, plan to get rich along with their girlfriends by fooling 2 gangsters and robbing their money. The movie is written & directed by Anees Bazmee. It is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar under the banner of T-Series along with Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak under the banner of Panorama Studios.

Anil Kapoor‘s character was earlier called Jugnu Bhai. But his make man suggested that his look should be completely different from Majnu Bhai of Welcome series and suggested a WIFI tattoo on his forehead. Later the makers felt that creating a tattoo daily on his forehead will be time consuming hence decided to name his character WIFI Bhai. Inaamulhaq’s character was based on Indian Bank fraudster Nirav Modi. John and Arshad worked after many years since Dhan Dhan Dhan Goal and Kabul Express.

Annes Bazmee had shot his previous film Mukabarkan (2017) in London and shortlisted many locations few of which couldn’t make it to that film so Anees decided to shoot Pagalpanti on those locations. Pagalpanti was released across 3000 screens in India and estimated to be made on a budget of ₹ 65 Crore including the Production cost and Prints & Advertising Cost.
