The movie is a remake of the Korean film The Terror Live (2013). The adaptation was first pitched by Sunir Kheterpal of Azure Entertainment along with the producers of the original film in May 2018. After Kheterpal dropped the project, Ronnie Screwvala of RSVP Movies acquired the rights for the adaptation with Madhvani helming the project.
