Aamir Khan‘s Dangal collected ₹ 13.19 Crore ($ 2.08 million) on first day of its release on 5th May around four times the earlier high for an Indian film of ₹ 5.7 Crore set by PK. The second day collection is ₹ 27.01 Crore [$ 4.17 million]. Total so far is ₹ 40.20 Crore [$ 6.25 million] at China box office.
The film has benefited from both Aamir Khan‘s popularity in China, as well as a wide promotion campaign and release. Aamir spent a week in China in April promoting the film along with director Nitesh Tiwari, travelled to Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu. The movie also opened the Beijing Film Festival this year.
Dangal is likely to break PK’s record of the first Indian movie to make ₹ 100 crore ($15.55 million) in China.
Dangal also holds the record of Highest Bollywood Grosser movie at the domestic market with the massive collections of ₹ 388 Crore.
Dangal deserves this much love..
