Veere Di Wedding starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania had a good start at the Indian box office and earned ₹ 10.70 Crore on its first day. The film has collected ₹ 36.52 Crore in three days of its release and got the fifth highest opening weekend in 2018 followed by Padmaavat (₹ 114 Crore), Baaghi 2 (₹ 73.10 Crore), Raid (₹ 41.01 Crore) and PadMan (₹ 40.05 Crore).
The movie is directed by Shashanka Ghosh, co-produced by Anil Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor & Nikhil Dwivedi and written by Nidhi Mehra & Mehul Suri.
The movie is a high spirited and upbeat coming of age story revolving around the lives of four childhood friends Kalindi, Avni, Meera & Sakshi. Ten years later when these four best friends reunite, they don’t realize how much life has changed from what they expected. The film is set against the backdrop of Delhi, where the girls are born and brought up, their trials and tribulations in modern day world, regarding family acceptance, marriage & societal perceptions.
The movie got released in 2647 screens worldwide which includes 2177 in India and 470 overseas. The film was banned in Pakistan for its explicit language and sexuality. Veere Di Wedding is estimated to be made on a budget of ₹ 30 Crore which includes the Production cost of 20 Crore and Prints & Advertising Cost of 10 Crore.
