WEB SERIES REVIEW: Daldal arrives with an ambitious premise. It’s the kind of layered storytelling that promises emotional depth alongside suspense. While the show delivers in parts, especially through its performances, it occasionally falters under the weight of restrained storytelling and uneven pacing.
Directed by Amrit Raj Gupta, the series aims to balance psychological exploration with the mechanics of a crime chase. Gupta succeeds in extracting compelling performances from his cast, ensuring that the emotional beats land effectively. The script needed sharper twists and more narrative urgency, instead, it leans heavily into a slow-burn style that sometimes fizzles out before reaching a satisfying payoff.
Bhumi Pednekar delivers a suitably restrained performance. Aditya Rawal once again proves his ability to humanize complex characters. The standout performance, however, comes from Samara Tijori. In a role that could have easily slipped into cliché, she delivers a layered portrayal that adds unpredictability and intensity to the narrative.
The biggest hurdle for Daldal is its pacing. The middle episodes, in particular, struggle with momentum. While the slow-burn format allows for introspection, it also causes the series to linger too long on certain emotional beats.
