Taapsee Pannu starrer Thappad got a decent start at the Indian box office. The movie began its theatrical run with ₹ 3.07 Crore. The drama film has collected ₹ 14.66 Crore in India within three days of its release.
The movie also starring Pavail Gulati, Dia Mirza, Maya Sarao, Kumud Mishra, Ratna Pathak Shah, Tanvi Azmi, Geetika Vidya, Ram Kapoor, Manav Kaul, Naina Grewal, Ankur Rathee, Shantanu Ghatak, Siddharth Karnik, Sushil Dahiya and Gracy Goswami in supporting roles. The film is written and directed by Anubhav Sinha and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar & Anubhav Sinha.
Thappad received mostly positive reviews from critics as well as the audience. Hit ya Flop gave it 2.5 out of 5 stars and rated as AVG. It got released across 1500+ screens in India and estimated to be made on a budget of ₹ 25 Crore including the Production and Prints & Advertising Cost.
