Nag Ashwin’s much-anticipated mythological science fiction film, Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Saswata Chatterjee, has made a spectacular debut at the box office.
The film has grossed an impressive ₹ 550 Crore worldwide in its opening weekend across all versions, marking it as a colossal success. In India alone, Kalki 2898 AD has entered the prestigious ₹ 300 Crore club, with ₹ 115 Crore coming from the Hindi version. The film has also set a new benchmark in North America, surpassing the previous records held by Baahubali and RRR with a staggering $11 million.
Hit Ya Flop gave it 3 out of 5 stars & rated it as ‘Good’ and wrote “It redefines genres with its mythological sci-fi setting, impressive visuals & strong performances, but falls short of being the groundbreaking film it aspires to be. The movie was theatrically released on 27th June 2024 across the globe. The film’s production budget, including the costs for prints and advertising, is estimated at ₹ 600 Crore, making its early box office success even more remarkable.
