Dabangg 3 starring Salman Khan, Kichcha Sudeep, Sonakshi Sinha, and Saiee Manjrekar didn’t get a great start at the Indian box office due to the on-going anti-CAA protests that have swept the nation. The movie began its theatrical run with ₹ 24.50 Crore but shows impressive growth on Sunday. Soon, it will be Salman’s 15th consecutive ₹ 100 Crore movie. The action comedy film has collected ₹ 81.15 Crore in India and crosses ₹ 120 Crore gross worldwide within three days of its release.
The numbers may seem relatively lesser for a Salman Khan starrer since higher numbers are expected from the superstar always. Currently, this lowered collection rate is being attributed to not only the anti-CAA protests but also to the fact that certain mass dominated territories like Bihar have been facing a bandh on Sunday. This coupled with India v/s West Indies cricket match seems to have greatly affected the overall business of Dabangg 3 on its third day.
The movie also starring Arbaaz Khan, Rajesh Sharma, Paresh Ganatra, Pramod Khanna, Nawab Shah, Dolly Bindra, Sharat Saxena and Mahesh Manjrekar in supporting roles. The film is written by Salman Khan and directed by Prabhu Deva. It is produced by Salma Khan, Arbaaz Khan and Nikhil Dwivedi under Salman Khan Films and Arbaaz Khan Productions banners.
The film is the third installment of the Dabangg film series. The film traces Chulbul Pandey’s journey from a young man named Dhaakad to police officer Chulbul Pandey, and his fight with the demons of his past. Along with dubbed versions in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu languages, the film was theatrically released in India on 20th December 2019 across 4300 screens in India.
Dabangg 3 is estimated to be made on a budget of ₹ 100 Crore which includes the Production cost of ₹ 85 Crore and advertising cost of ₹ 15 Crore. The budget is higher than Dabangg 2 (2012) which had a budget of ₹ 85 Crore and Dabangg (2010) had a budget of ₹ 40 Crore.
