PLOT : Revolves around a family that deals in borderline crime; ruthless and vindictive to the core. Its a story of Shamsher Singh and his children who can’t be trusted. He tries to resolve the arising conflict among his children, Sikander, Sanjana, Suraj, and their trusted man, Yash.
MOVIE REVIEW : The most awaited and much anticipated Salman Khan starrer Race 3 which also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Daisy Shah and Saqib Saleem has finally hit the screens on 15th June’18 and it is already being touted as one of the biggest blockbusters of this year because it has Salman in the lead.
The last two installments of the Race franchise was directed by Abbas-Mustan and both Race (2008) and Race 2 (2013) had been successful at the Indian box office and got good word of mouth from critics as well as audience. Here, Remo D’Souza proved to be a wrong choice for this big budget & multi starrer action franchise and he failed to deliver a compelling film of the same quality. Also, this one becomes the most trolled film than any other film of Salman or any other actor.
Remo’s last release, a super hero flick “A Flying Jatt” was a disaster at box office but this time he got a huge opportunity as he has to direct one of the well established franchise with Super Star Salman Khan and he is a box office king and a true entertainer who can act, sing, dance, fight, romance & do everything to pull the movie goers and his fans to theaters in huge numbers. The formula of Race series was unerringly followed by the director but what he forgot was it’s not only about too many car chases, good-looking cars, explosions and action sequences. The audience do expect the good and engaging story line with some logic. The only question arises here is “Why this movie is titled as Race 3 ?”
First half of the film is quite dull and dragged to the intermission for a twist, the songs & a romantic angle has simply ruin the narrative. The second half is comparatively engaging due to few twists and turns which helps to sit through the climax
but what’s there in the climax, it will only test your patience as the makers of the film introduce multiple twists in every other scene. The editing and screenplay could have been done better in the second half.
Salman is good only in the action sequences but his last release Tiger Zinda Hai was much better than this, even if you’re a Bhai fan, this will let you down. Anil Kapoor the only actor retained from the earlier Race films is the only one who has done justice to his role. Bobby Deol‘s comeback in this action film is terrible, his shirtless fight scene in the climax with Salman also can’t save the film. Saqib Saleem’s character was not written well, he doesn’t have anything much to do here. The leading ladies Jacqueline and Daisy were only stick to look pretty on the screen, the action sequence between them was not executed well too and the dialogue delivery by them are even worse. Freddy Daruwala just has a extended cameo in the film.
Music of the film is an another drawback, after having so many composers like Meet Bros, Vishal Mishra, Jam8, Tushar Joshi, Vicky-Hardik, Gurinder Seagal & Kiran Kamath still they couldn’t deliver the chart busters songs. Every song in the film except Sansain Hai Dhuan and Heeriye feels like forced and are only there to drag the run time of the film.
