A blockbuster weekend across the globe! A weekend full of laughter, love… and Housefull screens!
Despite mixed to negative reviews, Housefull 5 is proving that brand value and mass-appeal comedy still have a strong pull at the box office. The fifth installment of the hit Housefull franchise has recorded an impressive ₹91.83 Crore nett in India during its opening weekend, translating to a ₹108.34 Crore gross domestic total.
On the international front, the film added a healthy ₹34.01 Crore gross from overseas markets, taking its worldwide gross collection to ₹142.35 Crore in just three days. This strong showing puts Housefull 5 firmly on the path to a ₹200 Crore+ lifetime total. The film’s performance over the weekdays will be crucial, but early trends suggest that the comedy quotient is clearly resonating with family audiences and comedy lovers.
While the film has faced criticism for its plot and humor, it’s undeniable that Housefull 5 has managed to deliver where it matters most — bringing in the crowds. The combination of star power, slapstick comedy, and franchise familiarity continues to attract excellent footfalls across theaters.
Hit ya Flop rated the Housefull 5 – 1.5 out of 5 stars, labeling it “Not Watchable” and wrote, “A Franchise Fatigue That’s Hard to Sit Through. Its a mess of outdated humor, a non-existent script & cringeworthy jokes. The lead actors try their best to keep the energy alive. Their comic timing occasionally brings some charm to the otherwise tasteless scenes.”
