Jawan has made history in Indian Cinema! Blockbuster Jawan starring Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, and Deepika Padukone scored the highest single-day collection again in the history of Bollywood with ₹ 80.10 Crore. It has also become the fastest film to cross the ₹ 250 Crore mark in India in just 4 days. It has surpassed Pathaan which took 5 days to reach this milestone and Gadar 2 took 6 days.
Directed by Atlee Kumar, the action drama film has collected ₹ 286.16 Crore in India and ₹ 520.79 Crore gross worldwide in its extended opening weekend. It emerges as the highest opening weekend grosser film, beating Pathaan which has collected ₹ 280.75 Crore.
Jawan was co-written and directed by Atlee, in his first Hindi film. It was produced by Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma under Red Chillies Entertainment. The movie also stars Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Riddhi Dogra, Lehar Khan, Girija Oak, and Sanjay Dutt in a cameo appearance. Hit Ya Flop gave it 4 out of 5 stars & rated it as ‘Must Watch’ and wrote “The movie is a package of engaging story, entertaining performances, excellent direction, and electrifying larger-than-life action sequences”.
The movie got released across 5500 screens in India and on 4500 screens overseas. The worldwide count for Jawan is 10,000 screens, making it the biggest for a Hindi film and one of the widest ever for an Indian film too. It is estimated to be made on a budget of ₹ 300 Crore including the Production and Prints & Advertising Cost.
