Bhediya Movie Review and Rating

PLOT: Set in the forests of Arunachal, Bhediya is a story of Bhaskar, a man who gets bitten by a wolf, and begins to transform into a creature. As Bhaskar and his buddies try to find answers, a bunch of twists, turns, and laughs ensue.

Bhediya is a horror comedy film directed by Amar Kaushik and Produced by Dinesh Vijan. It is the third installment in Vijan’s horror-comedy universe, released on 25th November 2022 along with a Telugu dubbed version titled Thodelu.

MOVIE REVIEW: Bhediya is an entertaining watch and all the actors have done a great job. Director Amar Kaushik delivers what he promises, his previous two comedy films Stree and Bala were box office successes too. Once again he has given a compelling horror-comedy film. Niren Bhatt’s story is good but the screenplay is gripping only in the second half of the film.

Apart from the performances, the hilarious dialogues by Niren Bhatt and the captivating cinematography & VFX will make it a worth watching film on the big screen. Jishnu Bhattacharjee has beautifully captured the dense forests of Arunachal Pradesh. The VFX team has done great work here, the transformation scenes are executed exceptionally well.

Varun Dhawan delivered an impressive performance. Kriti Sanon is decent in her limited screen time and gives a fine performance. Deepak Dobriyal was underutilized, his character could have been placed better in the narrative. Abhishek Banerjee is a standout performer in the film. He is brilliant with his one-liners and comic timing. Debutant Paalin Kabak also contributes to the laughter and drama. Some memorable scenes are where he lectures about racism for the Northeast people in India. And his dialogue ‘being weak at speaking Hindi doesn’t make me any less of an Indian’ will stay with the viewers.
